All You Can Eat Taiwan Imperial Hot Pot @ Chunciou Hot Pot, Seputeh, Old Klang Road


 
Wow.... Check out the sumptuous hot pot feast we had the other day at the newly open Chunciou Hot Pot. It is the 1st authentic Taiwan Imperial 'served to your table' hotpot buffet in Malaysia. The 2-storey restaurant located along the main road of Jalan Klang Lama was easy to spot with aplenty free parking space. You could expect top notch quality up to par with Taiwan standards as the majority of the ingredients are sourced and imported directly from Taiwan.

Eat to your heart's content with unlimited refillable premium meat likes Australian striploin, Australian ribeye, lamb shoulder roll, pork shoulder, pork belly, duck roll and chicken fillet. Not to mention the assorted delectable balls such as wasabi ball, taro fish ball, cheese prawn ball, premium prawn ball, pork tendon ball and ham ball, just to name a few.

BEVERAGES
 
Beverages are included too. Take your pick from the wide selection of drinks including soft drinks, ice lemon tea, coffee and tea.

APPETIZER
 
Pickled sour plum cherry tomatoes, golden kimchi and mango lotus root. My favourite goes to the peeled sweet and tangy tomatoes.

Dip and swirl the thin slices of meats into the boiling soup.
There are 6 types of soup broth available and we picked Sukiyaki(sweet) and Lakesalt(salty) soup. I prefer the latter, as Sukiyaki was a tad sweet for my taste.
Other than Sukiyaki and Lakesalt, you could also choose from Tonkatsu, Spicy, Herbal & Tomyam.

 
Chunchiou signature "Golden Egg Yolk Sukiyaki" special sauce.

The ingredients for customized Chunciou special sauce.
  1. Sesame sauce
  2. 1 egg yolk
  3. Chopped scallions 
  4. Dash of shichimi (spicy)
Mix well all the ingredients.

 
The special sauce enhanced the texture of the meat while at the same time takes away some heat. Truly mouth-watering.



The buffet also includes assorted ingredients such as taro fish ball, sincere ball, hot sesame bun, curry fish ball, cheese fish tofu, cheese prawn ball, premium prawn ball, red heart ball, mushroom fish ball, premium cuttlefish ball, pork tendon ball, fish and squid mixture, ham ball, white fish ball, abalone slice, special tofu, tamago and handmade meat ball. It's not often you get to taste duck ball, right? This is nice and flavourful.  

 
Wasabi ball
Simply adore this! The mild pungent taste blends well with the wasabi gentle heat.

 
Mochi

 
Boil the mochi in the hotpot for a few minutes before consuming.
The QQ glutinous ball filled with not too sweet black sesame was extremely good.

 
The vegetable set consists of fresh greens, carrot, white carrot, abalone mushroom, golden mushroom, mushroom, cabbage, pumpkin, tomatoes, Chinese yam, sweet potato, Chinese fungus, chieh gua, bok choy, yau mak and eggplant.


Other additional item included are dong fen, udon noodles, spinach noodles, bean curd skin, tofu puff, fried bread stick and braised pork rice.

 
Braised Pork Rice
Sweet and savoury, the braised pork literally melts in my mouth, incredibly good.

There is also a selection of desserts likes red bean soup, ice cream, sweet lemon slice and bird nest to end the meal on a sweet note. It's a pity, we had no room for dessert, hence no photo. Hehehe.....

A feast fit for a King! :p

In a nutshell, Chunciou offer not only quantity but quality as well. Love the flavourful soup, tender and well marbled meats and fresh assorted balls. Not to mention, the great imperial ambiance and reasonably priced too. I can safely conclude that this is now one of my favourite restaurants!
