Hey! Check out the lovely table setting. Christmas mood is in the air! Last week, I was
honoured to be invited to Hotel Majestic's Christmas Eve dinner preview at Colonial Cafe. It was my first time at the Colonial cafe and I'm falling in love with the old school vibes, starched white tablecloths and timber panelling that strongly reinforces the colonial feel.
Our dinner was kick-started with the delightfully woody
Prelude Warm Fuzzy Mulled Wine.
It was amazing!
The
Salmon, Creme Fraiche & Fresh Dill were a delightful amuse bouche.
For starter we had the succulent subtle sweet
Seared Bay Scallop served with White Asparagus & Broad Beans.
To get things off to a good start, we were served crisp and easy to drink
Huntaway Malborough Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand.
Australian Red Onion Soup topped with the sinfully good
Gruyere Toasts.
IMHO, the soup served in a small bowl was rather tiny in portion. It was delicious, but the melting Gruyere Toasts really
top it off.
Palate cleanser -
Raspberry Sorbet
Ohh...
so tart and refreshing. I love the portion size too. No complains! Lol
Christmas isn't Christmas without turkey, right? Hence, for the main course we had the juicy and tender
Roasted Turkey served with Parnip Mashed, Roasted Root Vegetables & Stuffing and Giblet Gravy.
The
Sister's Run Epiphany McLaren Vale Shiraz, Australia is love at first sip. Full-bodied, definitely perfect accompaniment to the main course.
Mouth-watering dessert,
Orange Parfait with Cinnamon Crumble and Grapefruit Sherbet.
To end our fancy meal, we also nibble on some
Homemade Cookies and Chocolates with Freshly Brewed Coffee and Tea.
This Christmas is a special one as Hotel Majestic also launched their first ever Christmas Album by The Solianos, the only family in Malaysian show business who can claim a heritage of jazz back then. The
album features cover versions of popular Christmas classics such as A Majestic Christmas, Jingle Bells, White Christmas and many more.
