Mother's Day Celebration @ Sky Avenue, Resorts World Genting

 

Before May ends, I would like to wish all the MAMA around the world a Happy Mother's Day! Even though I'm not a mother, but I do know being a mother is not easy. For the past few years, we usually celebrated Mother's Day with the entire family. However, this year, I decided to ditch them to spend some quality time with my mom. *sorry dad* :p



Brought my mom uphill to Genting Highlands to enjoy the cool breeze and try out some of the new restaurants at Sky Avenue. Although, this is our second time on the glass floor gondola, we are still very much excited and enjoyed the scenic view. Our ride stop at Sky Avenue station, just a stone's throw away from the mall.


First stop, we had lunch at Acme Bar & Coffee which serve great coffee and Western foods with an Asian kick. Check out all the awesome foods we had.

 

Smoked Buffalo Wings RM29
Grilled and smoked chicken wings topped with sesame seed and Thai chili sauce, perfect appetizer.

Grilled Lamb Shoulder RM65
Grilled lamb shoulder with abc 'kicap' chili marinade, served with mushy peas and fries.  

 

Sizzling Coconut Nangka Brownie RM19

Rich and divine coconut brownie topped with a scoop of nangka sorbet, drizzled with gula Melaka sauce. 

Orange Lava Cake RM17
Fluffy, soft orange lava melts topped with meringue and chocolate sauce.

Fruity and refreshing frozen treat, perfect to quench the thirst.

A tasty concoction of coconut syrup, pineapple juice and grenadine.

 

After filling up our tummy with the scrumptious foods at Acme, we walk around and start planning on the outlet we will be heading for our tea time later at Sky Avenue. LOL With more than 70 retail and dining outlets, Sky Avenue has so much to offer we are truly spoilt for choice.

While walking around, we were then taken by surprise a flash mob performance and followed by giving away of carnation to all the mothers. 

After the flash mob, it was prize giving ceremony for the best Video Message to Mum's contest which was open to the public.


YB Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development also presented hampers to single mothers from Raub.


And of course, our fun continues with more foods. This Banana Waffle we had at Inside Scoop was totally legit. Crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside.

 

Ice-cream! Vanilla for my mom and my favourite Rum n Raisin.

 

Before we call it a day, we also check out Tokyo Secret's magnificent cheese tart and Gong Cha refreshing beverages.

It was one of the most enjoyable day I spent with my mom. So much food, literally, put both of us into a food coma. Lol Thank you Resorts World Genting for hosting us.
