The Best Spanish Cuisine @ Mercat Barcelona, One Mont Kiara

Bon profit! Thanks to the kind invitation, we're happy to be back again to Mercat Barcelona at One Mont Kiara over the weekend to try their new a' la carte menu. You can read about our previous visit here. Simple and unpretentious, Catalan cuisine showcases the pure and delicate flavour of the food that feast both the eyes and the taste buds. Check out some of the amazing dishes we tried!

Fardos Iberico RM22
Served on a crisp wafer, the fardos of Iberico ham stuffed with truffle cream and topped with tangy apple compote was lip-smackingly good, offering a myriad of textures and flavours from crisp to creamy, tangy and savoury. So tasty!

Padron Pepper RM22
These delectable deep fried tiny green Spanish Padron peppers with a sprinkle of natural sea salt were seriously addictive. Tastewise, it was slightly bitter with just a hint of heat aftertaste, but if you're lucky, you might get the fiery one though as one of out of ten may be really spicy.

Chorizo Lollipop RM24
Speared on sticks, the lovely presented chorizo pops served with creamy tartar sauce were packed with flavour, simply irresistible.

Baby Lobster RM25
Absolutely fresh and succulent, the briny sweetness of the lobster meat was further enhanced with a subtle earthy olive paste and tangy tomato. So delish, this baby lobster is to die for!

Codilo de cochinillo Espanol 300gms RM76
Another favourite dish of mine, the delicious melt-in-your-mouth tender Spanish suckling pork knuckle was juicy and full of flavour with wonderful fat marbling. Do not miss this if you are a pork lover, it was the bomb!

Spanish Churros RM12 (Plain) 
Extra crispy churros so good on its own.

For an ultimate indulgence, add on RM9 for the decadent chocolate dip.

Gin Xoriguer
Fairly easy to drink, this delicious gin has a wonderful citrus aroma on the nose with a sweet after taste, bursting with freshness. Honestly, I think this is one of the best gin I've tasted ever.

As de Picos
Absolutely refreshing, this gorgeous gin features a delicate floral flavour, finish with a subtle fruity after taste to delight your palate.



Brilliant food, very generous portion and reasonably priced, Mercat Barcelona quickly become one of my favourite restaurants for Spanish food. Freshest and finest ingredients, cooked to perfection with a soft modern approach, Mercat's gastronomic delights will surely tickle your taste buds.
