More than just a sneaker, the GEL-QUANTUM 360™ VII is a tool in the pursuit of innovation. ASICS has taken this opportunity to re-configure some of the brand’s most cutting-edge technology of ASICS in order to map out the future of footwear design; all the while creating a fashion-focused silhouette and a versatile wardrobe staple.

ASICS SportStyle (SPS) worked in tandem with the ASICS Institute of Sport Science (ISS) in order to find ways to expand the use of GEL™ technology, in a way that would be useful for not only performance – but for everyday lifestyle. Looking at shape, dexterity and shock absorption, the challenge was to create a sleek and stylish silhouette, that maximises comfort and wearability.

The definitive sole is a result of new Scutoid GEL™ technology, debut from ASICS SPS. Inspired by the nature of the human cell, the exaggerated shapes and surface area allows for better shock absorption due to its deformative properties. This, in addition with ASICS FF BLAST™cushioning creates more comfort for the wearer - as shock is dispersed more efficiently around the mass of the sole. The streamlined and futuristic style on the upper is digitally constructed via 3D printing, giving a sense of dynamism and flow. Its subtle, yet it speaks to the sense of modernity key to the SportStyle aesthetic.
